Lichtelijk bezweet, tevreden en nog half buiten adem wandelde ik vanavond de sportschool uit na een enerverende steples. Het was een mooie lenteavond en al net een beetje schemerdonker. Ik babbel met Mariska over dat roodharige meisje dat na tig jaar steppen nog steeds er niets van snapt en waarom zij niet gewoon een andere, minder kansloze sport gaat doen.
Dan staat daar in het maanlicht mijn lief rood Kadettje. Niets geks aan, want hij stond precies waar ik m had geparkeerd. Het bijzondere was dat Kadettje een vriendje had gekregen! Naast mij stond een precies eender lief rood Kadettje. Zo schattig, zoals ze naast elkaar stonden op de parkeerplaats! Lief, lichtelijk roestig, vaalrood, oud, maar nog steeds on the road. Het was een enorm romantisch moment.
Vastbesloten riep ik: ik blijf gewoon wachten tot de bestuurder terugkomt, ben benieuwd wie er nog meer in zo'n fijn wagentje rijdt. Is het die blonde jongen naar wie ik pas zwaaide (als Kadettrijders in Barneveld moet er gezwaaid worden vind ik) en die toen raar terugkeek en wel een beetje moest lachen maar die niet terugzwaaide? Of is het een dikke ouwe vrouw, een 18jarig huppelkutje zonder geld voor een fatsoenlijke auto... ik was benieuwd. Na een kwartier kwam er nog niemand naar buiten (terwijl de lessen afgelopen waren) en heb ik het opgegeven.
Leuk detail: over 230 kilometer gaat mijn Kadettje over de magische 4 ton grens heen!! Het is aftellen geblazen!! Spannend!
